Order
UPON the Secretary of State’s application for an Order under s. 4(2) of the Contempt of Court Act 1981 postponing publication of any report of the proceedings touching on specified matters;
AND UPON hearing Karl Laird (Counsel) for the Secretary of State, Raza Hussain KC and Grant Kynaston (Counsel) for the Claimant, Dominic Casciani (of the BBC) and Jess Glass (of the Press Association);
AND UPON it appearing to the Court that representatives of the media had been given insufficient notice of the Secretary of State’s application;
IT IS ORDERED as follows:
- Pursuant to s. 4(2) of the Contempt of Court Act 1981, and subject to paragraph 2 below, the publication of the following parts of the proceedings shall be postponed until the conclusion of the hearing mentioned in paragraph 3 below:
(a) any information concerning the planning, conduct or otherwise arising from the police investigation into the events at Elbit Systems UK on 6 August 2024; and
(b) any information concerning the planning, conduct or otherwise arising from the police investigation into events at Instro Precision on 17 June 2024. - This Order does not prohibit reporting of anything said in the presence of the jury in the current proceedings in the Crown Court at Woolwich in respect of the events referred to in paragraph 1(a) above.
- There is to be a hearing at 12 noon on Monday 24 November 2025 at the Royal Courts of Justice, London, to determine (among other matters) whether the order in paragraph 1 above should be continued (either in its current form or as varied). Representatives of the media may attend and make submissions at that hearing either through counsel or in person.
