In relation to claim number HC-2016-001671 on 23 February 2022 at the Royal Courts of Justice in London Mrs Justice Falk sentenced Paul Shane Bennetts to an immediate custodial sentence of 12 months for contempt of court. The basis of the sentence was that Mr Bennetts wilfully interfered with the administration of justice by knowingly making a material false statement under oath at the liability trial in these proceedings that the claimants in the proceedings were the owners of the unregistered design rights and confidential information asserted against the defendants, and wilfully omitting to inform the court that five days before the trial he had executed a document purporting to divest the claimants of those rights.
