In the matter of Chief Constable of Lancashire v Mr Gary Hampson – case number G00PR618
District Judge Bury sentenced Gary Hampson to a fine of £250 for contempt of court. The basis of that sentence was that Gary Hampson admitted breaching an Order made by the court on 26 June 2020 (“the Injunction Order”). The breach admitted was that he had had in his possession on 8th August 2020 a mobile phone which he had not registered with the Chief Constable as required by para 3 of the Injunction Order. The court imposed a fine of £250 to be paid at the rate of £50 per month the first payment to be made by 31st August 2020 and the balance to be paid by equal instalments by the end of each 28 day period thereafter.In default of payment as detailed above the said Gary Hampson shall be committed to prison for 14 days.
