Committal for Contempt of Court in Open Court at the High Court of Justice (Chancery Division)

Pursuant to paragraph 13 of the Practice Direction: Committal for Contempt of Court – Open Court dated 26 March 2015

In relation to claim No. BL-2020-001419 on 25 July 2022 at the Royal Courts of Justice in London Mr Justice Adam Johnson sentenced Mr Kevin Gerald Stanford to a suspended sentence of 28 days imprisonment for contempt of Court.  The basis of the sentence was Mr Stanford’s contempt in failing to attend for examination under CPR r 71.2 at a hearing on 3 August 2021 as required under an Order of Deputy Master Bowles made on 10 June 2021, together with his failure to produce documents in connection with that examination as specified in the said Order.  The sentence was suspended so long as Mr Stanford attends a further hearing of his examination under CPR 71.2, now scheduled for 25 November 2022, and produces the documents required to be produced in connection with that examination.
