UPON the Claimant’s application dated 13 July 2026
AND PURSUANT to CPR r.39.2 (4), the Court being satisfied that an order in the terms below is necessary to protect the interests of the Claimant and there is no sufficient countervailing public interest in disclosure.
AND FURTHER PURSUANT to section 11 of the Contempt of Court Act 1981, Section 6 of the Human Rights Act 1998 and CPR Rule 5.4D and CPR Rule 39.2:
IT IS ORDERED that:
- The identity of the Claimant not be disclosed.
- There be substituted for all purposes of this case, in place of references to the Claimant by name and whether orally or in writing, references to “KL”.
- The Claimant be described in all statements of case and other documents to be filed or served in the proceedings and in any judgment or order in the proceedings and in any report of the proceedings by the press or otherwise as “KL”.
- The address of the Claimant be stated in all statements of case and other documents to be filed or served in the proceedings as the address of the Claimant’s solicitors.
- Reporting restrictions apply as to the disclosing of any information that may lead to the subsequent identification of the Claimant. The publication of the name and address of the Claimant or any member of the Claimant’s immediate family is prohibited.
- Pursuant to CPR Rules 5.4C and 5.4D:
(i) A person who is not a party to the proceedings may not obtain a copy of a statement of case, judgment or order from the Court records unless the statement of case, judgment or order has been anonymised in accordance with subparagraphs 2 and 3 above.
(ii) If a person who is not a party to the proceedings applies (pursuant to CPR r.5.4C(2)) for permission to inspect or obtain a copy of any other document or communication, such application shall be on at least 7 days’ notice to the Claimant’s solicitor, trustee or deputy unless the court orders otherwise. - The Court file shall be clearly marked with the words “An anonymity order was made in this case on 11 August 2026 and any application by a non-party to inspect or obtain a copy document from this file must be dealt with in accordance with the terms of that Order.”
- Any interested party whether or not a party to the proceedings, may apply on notice to all parties to have this Order set aside or varied.
- This order shall lapse automatically on the death of the Claimant and its provisions shall have no effect from that time.
- Pursuant CPR 39.2(5) a copy of this Order shall be published on the website of the Judiciary of England and Wales (www.judiciary.uk). For that purpose, a court officer will send a copy of the order by email to the Judicial Office at judicialwebupdates@judiciary.uk.
- Costs in case.
