Order

On an application by the Claimant for an anonymity order and by the Defendant for an extension of time to file its Acknowledgement of Service

Following consideration of the documents lodged by the Claimant and the Defendant

ORDER by Richard Clayton KC sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge

1. The Claimant’s name is to be withheld from the public and must not to be disclosed in any proceedings in open court.

2. The Claimant is permitted to issue these proceedings naming the claimant as TA and there is to be substituted for all purposes in these proceedings in place of references to the Claimant by name, and whether orally or in writing, references to the letters “TA”.

3. Pursuant to s.11 Contempt of Court Act 1981, there must be no publication of the identity of the claimant or of any matter likely to lead to the identification of the claimant in any report of, or otherwise in connection with, these proceedings.

Reasons

1. The Defendant does not take issue with the application for an anonymity order. However, I bear in mind the importance of the open justice principle and the exceptions to that principle in CPR 39.2 to cases involving confidential information.
