Order

Following consideration of the documents lodged by the Claimant and the Defendant
ORDER by the Honourable Mrs Justice Stacey

  1. Pursuant to CPR r.39.2 in any report of these proceedings, there shall be no publication of the name and address of the Claimant, nor any other particulars likely to lead to their identification. In the proceedings, the Claimant shall be anonymised and referred to as “NA”;
  2. Time for service of the Acknowledgement of Service is abridged to 14 days;
  3. The case to be referred to a judge thereafter for a decision on permission as soon as is reasonably practicable;
  4. Costs reserved.

Reasons

  1. I have made an anonymity order the Claimant to protect the privacy of the Claimant who may be vulnerable on account of mental health and transgender status. A limited departure from the general principle of open justice is justified, at least for the time being.
  2. However I am not satisfied that her case is sufficiently urgent to require the truncated timetable sought for the onward consideration of the claim.
