UPON hearing from counsel for both parties

AND UPON the Court hearing the trial of the claim between 20th and 22nd May 2025 and reserving judgment thereafter

AND UPON the Court circulating a draft judgment to the parties on 5th June 2025 

AND UPON the parties identifying s1 of the Sexual Offences (Amendment) Act 1992 applies to the person referred to as “RSL” in the approved judgment, by reason of the allegation of rape made against the Claimant 

AND UPON an application notice being dispensed with 

IT IS ORDERED THAT: 

1. The identity of                             , who is named in these proceedings but is not a party, is confidential and shall not be published.  

2. Pursuant to CPR Rule 39.2(4), there shall not be disclosed in any report of these proceedings or other publication the name or address of                             or friends or other immediate family members, or any details (including other names addresses, or a specific combination of facts) that could lead to her identification.                              shall be referred to as set out at paragraph 3 of this Order.

3. In the judgment of these proceedings or any other publication by whatever medium in relation thereto:

(a)                              shall be referred to as RSL;

(b) Any other details which on their own or together with any other information publicly available, may lead to the identity of RSL (including any names of friends or family members) shall be redacted before publication.

4. Pursuant to CPR r5.4C(4), it is ordered that a non-party to this claim may not obtain any document relating to the case, other than a copy of the approved judgment as handed down, without first obtaining the permission of the court. In accordance with CPR r5.4C(6), any application for such permission shall be made under Part 23 and shall be made on notice to the parties to the claim.

5. The Court file shall be clearly marked with the words “an anonymity order was made in this case on 30 June 2025 and any application by a non-party to inspect or obtain a copy document from this file must be dealt with in accordance with the terms of that Order”.

6. Any non-party affected by this anonymity order may on 7 days’ notice to the parties apply to set it aside or vary it.

7. No order as to costs.

8. Pursuant to CPR 39.2(5) and the Practice Guidance: Publication of Privacy and Anonymity Orders dated 16 April 2019 a redacted copy of this order shall be published on the Judicial Website of the High Court of Justice (www.judiciary.uk).
