Order

On an application by the Claimant for interim relief
Following consideration of the documents lodged by the Claimant and the GLD.

ORDER by the Honourable Mr Justice Holgate

1. The Claimant is granted anonymity in these proceedings and shall be referred to as SRH.

2. I refuse the application to abridge the time for service of the Defendants’ Acknowledgments of Service. The question of expedition should be considered by the judge who deals with the application for permission in the light of submissions from both parties.

3. Upon receipt of the Defendants’ Acknowledgments of Service the papers will be referred to a judge for consideration of the application for permission,

Reasons

It was quite inappropriate for the claimant to ask for the time for the AoSs to be abridged. The original decision in this case was made on 8 March 2023, The claimant sought a review in April 2023. The claim form was issued around 19 April 2024 and raises a number of issues. The defendant ought to have the normal period within which to respond to this claim and assist the court irrespective of any delay which occurred in dealing with correspondence last year.
