The Appellant, Shamima Begum, appeals against the decision of the Special Immigration Appeals Commission dated 22 February 2023. By that decision SIAC dismissed A’s appeal against the SSHD’s decision dated 19 February 2019 to deprive her of her British citizenship pursuant to s.40(2) British Nationality Act 1981. SIAC recognised the appeal as “an extremely difficult and disturbing case” and “a case of great concern and difficulty”.
