By an Appellant’s Notice, filed on 2 December 2024 and sealed on 6 December 2024, the Appellant appeals the orders dated 12 June 2024 and 24 July 2024 of HHJ Keyser KC sitting as a High Court Judge in the Commercial Court, in which the Judge found that the Defendant had committed all three grounds of contempt and sentenced him to imprisonment.
The Judge found that the Defendant had breached paragraph the Order dated 2 August 2021 by failing to disclose his cryptocurrency holdings of 100 Bitcoin which in August 2021 amounted to approximately US$4 million and by failing to disclose the existence or location of the Bitcoin. The Defendant was also found to have knowingly made a false statement about the existence of his Bitcoin and access to his Bitcoin in his statement.
