By an Appellant’s Notice filed on 14 September 2023, this is an application for permission to appeal the decision of Mr Justice MacDonald sitting in the High Court of Justice Family Division – RCJ dated 12 September 2023. The applicants in this case are the siblings, Christine Casey (sister) and Joe Casey (brother), who seek to challenge the declaration that Andy Casey died at the conclusion of the first brain stem test on the 16 July 2023 and that any further medical intervention ought to cease. The same decision is also appealed separately by Andy’s mother.
