This appeal is about whether the housing benefit of a tenant in social housing should be reduced under Regulation B13 of the Housing Benefit Regulations, which is the “removal of the spare room subsidiary”, also known as the “bedroom tax”. The dispute in this case is what is a bedroom for the purpose of the “size criteria” in Regulation B13.
