This is an appeal by the Defendant firm of solicitors against a decision of Costs Judge Brown ordering that there be an assessment under section 71(3) of the Solicitors Act 1974 of the fees and disbursements of the Defendant firm of solicitors.
Permission to appeal was granted below on 1 February 2023 and the appeal transferred to the Court of Appeal.
The case turns on the application of The CA’s decision in Tim Martin Interiors ltd v Akin Gump Ltd [2012] 1 WLR 2946.
