Appeal against the decision to refuse the application for judicial review made in the Upper Tribunal Immigration and Asylum Chamber dated 26 July 2024.
The applicant, a national of Jamaica, sought permission to challenge the respondent’s decision of 21 August 2023 to refuse his application for Entry Clearance on suitability grounds arising from his criminal conduct in the UK, namely his conviction for possession of an automatic weapon and sentence to 5 years’ imprisonment, as a
result of which he was deported in March 2016. The deportation order was revoked in June 2023, following an appeal to the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal.
