Heidi Bancroft, Secretary to the AJC

Heidi Bancroft is Secretary to the Administrative Justice Council. Heidi started her career in the UK Civil Service where she worked in a minister’s private office before working in civil legal aid policy roles at the Ministry of Justice.

She then joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as the Deputy Head of the China Team. She relocated to Ghana for a few years where she set up her own travel and tour business and provided tailor-made tours to Ghana and bus rental services. After moving back to the UK, Heidi joined the Greater London Authority where she provided research and support to the Chair of the London Assembly. She also became the Labour Group lead on Female Genital Mutilation.

Heidi then took up the role at JUSTICE to set up the Administrative Justice Council. She also became the Administrative Justice Policy Lead where she led projects on the Windrush Compensation Scheme, Afghanistan Relocation Schemes and the EU Settlement Scheme. She is now based in the Senior President of Tribunal’s Office where she continues to lead the Secretariat for the AJC.

Assistant Secretary to the Administrative Justice Council

Mairi Hendry is Assistant Secretary to the AJC. Mairi began her Civil Service career as Personal Secretary in Judicial Private Offices before moving as Business Support to the Civil Justice Council. Most recently, Mairi worked as a Private Secretary in the Government Legal Department Private Offices.

Mairi graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2021 and has recently completed her LLM in Law and Gender at SOAS, University of London.
