Going to court about a Family issue?

The Family Justice Council, in conjunction with Advicenow and the Ministry of Justice, has produced a signposting leaflet for litigants in person to alert them to a series of online family law guides available on the Advicenow website (external link).

These step-by-step guides cover topics such as financial issues on divorce, arrangements for children and going to court without a lawyer.   In plain English, they provide a concise summary of family law for people who do not have access to a lawyer and are intended to demystify complex areas which many litigants in person may find intimidating.

The leaflet will be available in family courts and various advice agencies.  Other organisations are encouraged to place the leaflet on their websites or use it to print hard copies.
