Enzo Riglia
Enzo was called to the Bar 1990. Enzo’s early career was spent working as a legal adviser in the magistrates’ court in the North-West. This was followed by management posts within HMCTS in London and later Hampshire. While in Hampshire he established its first two specialist domestic violence courts.
In 2006, he moved to a head quarters role for HMCTS. He played a significant part in the design and implementation of CJSSS, streamlining the summary court process. In collaboration with the Youth Justice Board he co-wrote ‘Making it Count In Court’ – a practitioners good practice guide. He went on to assist Lord Justice Goldring with the implementation of the Crown Court’s Early Guilty Plea Scheme.
In 2013, he led the team responsible for redesigning the summary court process in preparation for the abolition of the committal for trial process.
David Robinson
David was admitted as a solicitor in 1998. David spent his early career practising as a criminal defence solicitor and then a solicitor-advocate in the West Midlands.
In 2006, he joined the Criminal Cases Review Commission, the independent statutory body responsible for investigating alleged miscarriages of justice in England, Wales and Northern Ireland, where he is the Legal Advisor.
David spent some time away from the Commission in 2010-12, when he worked on the Al-Sweady Public Inquiry, which investigated allegations that in 2004 UK troops serving in Iraq tortured and murdered Iraqi citizens.
David is also admitted to the list of Legal Officers to the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, the UN body responsible for investigating and prosecuting those responsible for the assassination of Rafik Hariri, the former Premier of Lebanon.
