During her visit she was given a tour of the building and saw how new technology is having an impact on the work of the court when she watched a demonstration of the new Cloud Video Platform. She later attended a mock cross examination in court and unveiled a plaque to commemorate her attendance.

The event was organised by Judge Jeremy Richardson QC, the Recorder of Sheffield. Attendees included, the Senior Presiding Judge, Lady Justice Thirlwall, the Recorder of Westminster, Her Honour Judge Taylor (the daughter of the LCJ who opened the building 25 years ago), Mr Justice Lavender, Mr Justice Lambert, Dame Janet Smith, Lord Mayor, Master Cutler of Sheffield, all members of the judiciary who sit in Sheffield and members of HMCTS staff.
