Vacancy: Chancery Master
The Judicial Appointments Commission (JAC) has been asked to identify one candidate for the role of Chancery Master.
The Chancery Division is part of the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales based at the Rolls Building in London.
Masters manage and hear cases in the Business List, the Competition List, the Intellectual Property List and the Property Trusts and Probate List. The work is specialist, and often complex and challenging. It includes a substantial amount of business and commercial litigation, some of which has a foreign element.
Masters do not deal with insolvency or claims in the Companies Court, although both areas of law feature regularly in business claims.

It is essential that the candidate for this post has relevant knowledge and experience in Chancery work. Candidates must have at least three years’ experience in chancery work that they can evidence in the previous five years.
