Judicial Progression Charts (Courts and Tribunals)

These Judicial Progression Charts have been created by the Leadership, Development and Talent Team, Judicial HR, to show how legal professionals as well as judicial members can progress within the judiciary for England and Wales (both in the courts and tribunals). The aim is to promote transparency in the structure of the judiciary, provide a picture for anyone aspiring to become a judicial office holder, and offer a development profile for anyone who is already a judicial office holder.

The charts have been designed to give a clear pathway of what progression looks like. They also highlight the lines of responsibility for judges with leadership roles. You will find the tabs next to each chart provide eligibility requirements that are needed for some of the posts.
