Court of Appeal: Retirement of Lady Justice Rafferty DBE

Lady Justice Rafferty DBE retires as Lady Justice of Appeal with effect from 27 July 2020.

Dame Anne Judith Rafferty DBE (70) was called to the Bar (G) in 1973, took Silk in 1990 and was elected a Bencher in 1998. She was appointed a Recorder in 1991, a Deputy High Court Judge in 1996 and a Judge of the High Court (Queens Bench Division) in 2000. She was the Presiding Judge of the South Eastern Circuit between 2003 and 2006 and was appointed a Lady Justice of Appeal and made a Privy Counsellor in 2011.  She was Chairman of the Judicial College from 2014 to 2020.
