Court of Appeal: Retirement of Lord Justice Floyd

Lord Justice Floyd retires as Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 10 February 2021. 

Background Information

Sir Christopher David Floyd (69) was called to the Bar (I) in 1975 (Republic of Ireland in 1988), took Silk in 1992 and was elected a Bencher in 2001. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1994 and served as Deputy Chairman of the Copyright Tribunal from 1995 to 2007. He was appointed a Deputy High Court Judge (Patents Court) in 1998, a Recorder in 2000 and a High Court Judge (Chancery Division) in 2007. He was appointed as a Lord Justice of Appeal and made a Privy Counsellor in 2013.
