Lord Justice Simon retires as Lord Justice of Appeal with effect from 21 June 2020.

Sir Peregrine Charles Hugo Simon (70) was called to the Bar (M) in 1973, took Silk in 1991 and was elected a Bencher in 1999. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1993, a Recorder in 1998, a Deputy High Court Judge in 1999 and a High Court Judge (Queens’ Bench Division) in 2002, authorised to sit in the Commercial Court. He was the Presiding Judge of the North-Eastern Circuit and served as a member of the Judge’s Council from 2006 to 2008. He was appointed Lord Justice of Appeal in 2015 when he was sworn as a Privy Councillor.
