The Queen is pleased to approve the appointment of a Justice of the High Court. This appointment will take effect from 2 November 2020.  It is anticipated that further announcements will be made.

The candidate approved as a High Court Judge is Michael Anthony Green QC.

This appointment will fill a vacancy in the High Court following elevations to the Court of Appeal and confirmed retirements. Michael Anthony Green QC

Michael Anthony Green QC, aged 55 will be known as The Honourable Mr Justice Michael Green. He was Called to the Bar (L) in 1987 and took Silk in 2009. He was appointed as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2018.

He will take up appointment on 2 November 2020 consequential to retirements in the High Court.

The Lord Chief Justice will assign Michael Green to the Chancery Division.
