Circuit Bench Retirement: Ashurst
His Honour Judge Stephen Ashurst retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 26 April 2021.
Background information
His Honour Judge Ashurst (64) was called to the Bar (I) in 1979. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1994, a Recorder in 1998 and a Circuit Judge in 2004. He was a Judicial Member of the North Yorkshire Probation Board from 2006 to 2010, the Resident Judge at York Crown Court from 2007 to 2015 and the Honorary Recorder of York from 2008 to 2015. He was the Honorary President of the North Yorkshire Magistrates’ Association from 2011 to 2015.
