Circuit Bench Retirement: Burrell QC
His Honour Judge Francis Gary Burrell QC retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 26 February 2022.
Background information
His Honour Judge Burrell QC (68) was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1977, took Silk in 1996 and was elected a Bencher in 2002. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1992 and was a Member of the Bar Council from 1995 to 2010. He was appointed a Recorder in 1996, a Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (Restricted Patients Panel) in 1999, a Deputy High Court Judge in 2001 and a Circuit Judge in 2009. He was a Director of Circuit Criminal Training at the Judicial College from 2012 to 2016.
