Circuit Bench Retirement: Butler
His Honour Judge Jonathan Charles Butler retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 1 June 2021.
Background information
His Honour Judge Butler (62) was called to the Bar (G) in 1992. He was appointed a Legal Member of the Mental Health Review Tribunal (now known as a fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Health Education and Social Care Chamber) in 2002, a Recorder in 2008 and a Circuit Judge in 2014. He was appointed as a Regional Lead Judge of the Court of Protection (Northern Region) in 2015. He was appointed a Court of Protection Tutor at the Judicial College in 2015 and a Court of Protection Course Director at the Judicial College in 2019.
