His Honour Judge Anthony Simon Lissant Cleary retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 4 August 2019.

His Honour Judge Cleary (73) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1971. He was appointed a Deputy District Judge in 1982 and a District Judge in 1986. He was a Member of the Lord Chancellor’s Matrimonial Causes Rules Committee from 1984 to 1986, Lord Chancellor’s Children Act Procedure Advisory Group from 1989 to 1991 and the Lord Chancellor’s Children Act Advisory Committee from 1991 to 1993. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1989, a Recorder in 1992, served as a Civil Tutor Judge from 2001 to 2010 and was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2006 and a Deputy High Court Judge in 2011. He was a Member of the Family Law Committee, Law Society, from 1984 to 1986 and General Editor of the Family Court Practice, annually, since 1993.
