His Honour Judge David Edward Crowley retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 1 July 2026.

Background information

His Honour Judge Crowley was admitted as a Solicitor in 1982. He was appointed a Part-time Legally Qualified Panel Member of the Appeal Tribunals in 2002, a Deputy District Judge in 2003 and a District Judge in 2008. He was a Family Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2014 to 2026 and a Training Lead for Welsh Law and Language at the Judicial College from 2019 to 2024. He was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2020, was a Regional Head Court of Protection Judge from 2020 to 2025 and was a Faculty Tutor at the Judicial College from 2021 to 2024. He was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2023 pursuant to the Senior Courts Act 1981 and was the Lead Judge for the implementation of Pathfinder for South West Wales from 2025 to 2026.
