Circuit Bench Retirement: Harris
Her Honour Judge Laura Harris retired as a Circuit Judge with effect from 28 June 2024.
Background information
Her Honour Judge Harris was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1977 and was elected a Bencher in 2019. She was appointed a Deputy District Judge (Principal Registry of the Family Division) in 1990, a Recorder in 2003 and a Circuit Judge in 2008. She was Honorary Treasurer of the Council of His Majesty’s (formerly Her Majesty’s) Circuit Judges (COCJ) from 2011 to 2016 and Chair of the family sub-committee of the COCJ from 2017 to 2021. She was a Family Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2012 to 2022 and authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2019.
