Circuit Bench Retirement: Hopmeier
His Honour Judge Michael Andrew Philip Hopmeier retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 26 October 2025.
Background information
His Honour Judge Hopmeier was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1974 and elected as a Bencher in 2014. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1990, a Recorder in 1994 and a Circuit Judge in 2009. He was a Diversity and Community Relations Judge from 2011 to 2025 and a Criminal Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2016 to 2024. He was a Course Director for Long and Complex Trials at the Judicial College from 2017 to 2020. He was appointed a Deemster of the Isle of Man in 2020.
