Circuit Bench Retirement: Parkes KC
His Honour Judge Richard Parkes KC retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 18 November 2023.
Background information
His Honour Judge Parkes KC was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1977, took Silk in 2003 and was elected a Bencher in 2006. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1998, a Recorder in 2000 and a Judge of the Mental Health Review Tribunal in 2007. He was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2007, appointed a Circuit Judge in 2009 and was a Nominated Judge, Media and Communications List, High Court from 2019 to 2023. He served as the Designated Civil Judge for Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Wiltshire and Dorset from 2020 to 2022. He was appointed a Deemster (Judge) of the Isle of Man in 2021.
