Circuit Bench Retirement: Plunkett
His Honour Judge Christopher Plunkett retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 7 April 2026.
Background information
His Honour Judge Plunkett was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1983. He was appointed a Recorder in 2002 and a Circuit Judge in 2005. He was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2010 pursuant to the Senior Courts Act 1981 and served as the Designated Family Judge for Worcestershire and Herefordshire from 2016 to 2024. He was a Family Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2018 to 2024 and a Family Course Director at the Judicial College from 2024 to 2026.
