His Honour Judge Nigel John Seed QC retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 1 August 2022.

Background information

His Honour Judge Seed QC (71) was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1978, took Silk in 2000 and elected a Bencher in 2008. He was Chancellor of the Diocese of Leicester from 1989 to 2002, Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Salisbury from 1992 to 1997, Deputy Chancellor of the Diocese of Norwich from 1992 to 1998 and Chancellor of the Diocese of London from 2002 to 2021. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1995, a Special Immigration Adjudicator in 1998 and a Recorder in 2000. He was elected Freeman of the City of London in 2009 and a Circuit Judge in 2010.
