Circuit Bench Retirement: Southern
His Honour Judge Paul David Southern retires as a Circuit Judge with effect from 15 June 2024.
Background information
His Honour Judge Southern was admitted as a Solicitor in 1979. He was appointed a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) in 1999, a Special Immigration Adjudicator in 2003, an Immigration Judge in 2005 and a Senior Immigration Judge in 2006. He was appointed a Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2010 and a Legal Member of the Special Immigration Appeals Commission in 2013. He was appointed a Circuit Judge in 2018.
