The Honourable Sir Andrew (George Lindsay) Nicol retires from the High Court (Queen’s Bench Division) with effect from 10 May 2021.
Background information
Sir Andrew Nicol (70) was called to the Bar (M) in 1978, took Silk in 1995 and was elected a Bencher in 2004. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1998, a Recorder in 2000 and authorised to sit as a Deputy High Court Judge in 2003. He was appointed a High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division) in 2009 and was the Presiding Judge of the South East Circuit from 2011 to 2014. He was Deputy Chairman of the Boundary Commission for England from 2017 to 2020.
