The Honourable Sir Philip Drury Moor retires as a Judge of the High Court (Family Division) with effect from 3 October 2024.

Background information

Sir Philip Moor was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1982, took Silk in 2001 and was elected a Bencher in 2004. He was appointed a Recorder in 2002 and was Chairman of the Family Law Bar Association and served on the General Council of the Bar from 2004 to 2005. He was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2009 and appointed a High Court Judge (Family Division) in 2011. He was the Family Presiding Judge (formerly known as Family Division Liaison Judge) for Wales from 2012 to 2017, Chair of the High Court Judges Association from 2016 to 2018 and the Family Presiding Judge for South East England from 2017 to 2020.
