High Court: Retirement of The Honourable Sir Timothy Julian Kerr
The Honourable Sir Timothy Julian Kerr retires as a Judge of the High Court (King’s Bench Division) with effect from 20 December 2025.
Background information
Sir Timothy Kerr was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1983, took Silk in 2001 and was elected a Bencher in 2015. He was a Member of the Sport Resolutions UK Arbitrators’ Panel from 2000 to 2015, appointed a part-time Chairman of the Employment Tribunals in 2001 and was a Member of the FA Premier League Arbitrators’ Panel from 2007 to 2015. He was appointed a Recorder in 2008, was a Chairman of the Anti-Doping Tribunal (International Cricket Council) from 2011 to 2015 and was authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2013 pursuant to the Senior Courts Act in 1981. He was appointed a High Court Judge (Queen’s Bench Division, now King’s Bench Division) in 2015. He was the Liaison Judge for the Administrative Court in Leeds and Manchester from 2016 to 2019 and a Member of the Civil Procedure Rule Committee from 2016 to 2023.
