Judge Joanne Mary Briggs retires with effect from 1 January 2026.
Background information
Judge Briggs was called to the Bar (Middle Temple) in 1993. She was appointed a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Court) in 2005. She was appointed as a Fee-Paid Mental Health Judge in 2002 and a Fee-Paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber) in 2008. She was appointed a District Tribunal Judge (now known as Judge of the First-tier Tribunal) (Health, Education and Social Care Chamber)) in 2009.
