Judge Nicholas Barrie Easterman retires with effect from 6 April 2025.
Background information
Judge Easterman was called to the Bar (Lincoln’s Inn) in 1975. He was appointed as an Acting Metropolitan Stipendiary Magistrate (now known as a Deputy District Judge (Magistrates’ Courts) from 1996 to 2020. He was appointed an Immigration Adjudicator in 2003 and an Immigration Judge (now known as a Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2005. He was a Diversity and Community Relations Judge from 2012 to 2025 and an Assistant Resident Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) from 2019 to 2023.
