Upper Tribunal Judge Paula Gray retires with effect from 9 March 2022. 

Background information 

Upper Tribunal Judge Gray (64) was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1980. She was appointed a part-time Chairman of Social Security Appeal Tribunals in 1993, a Legally Qualified Panel Member of Appeal Tribunals in 1999, a District Chairman of Appeal Tribunals in 2004 and a Legal Member of the Gender Recognition Panel in 2005. She was appointed a Regional Chairman of Appeal Tribunals (now known as a Regional Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Social Entitlement Chamber)) in 2008. She was appointed Deputy President of the Gender Recognition Panel in 2009, Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Administrative Appeals Chamber) in 2013 and President of the Gender Recognition Panel in 2019.
