Upper Tribunal Judge Bernard William Dawson retires with effect from 4 July 2020.

Upper Tribunal Judge Dawson (68) was admitted as a Solicitor in 1979 (a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand in 1975). He was appointed a part-time Immigration Adjudicator in 1997 and a part-time Immigration Judge in 2005. He was appointed a Deputy Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2010 and a Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2011. He was appointed a Member of the Special Immigration Appeals Commission in 2015 and was the Principal Resident Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) from 2015 to 2018.
