Upper Tribunal Judge David Michael Walker Pickup retired with effect from 1 July 2024.

Background information

Upper Tribunal Judge Pickup was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1984. He was appointed a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2006, a Fee-paid Judge of the First-tier Tribunal (Health, Education, Social Care Chamber) in 2007, a Deputy Upper Tribunal Judge (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2012 and a Salaried Judge of the First-Tier Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum) in 2018. He was appointed a Judge of the Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum Chamber) in 2019.
