His Honour Judge (Laurence Frederick) Mark Brown retired as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 27 July 2020.

His Honour Judge Brown (67) was called to the Bar (I) in 1975 and was elected a Bencher in 2009. He was appointed an Assistant Recorder in 1993, a Recorder in 1997, a Circuit Judge in 2000 and Assistant Boundary Commissioner (England and Wales) in 2000. He was the Merseyside Community and Diversity Judge from 2002 to 2005, a Member of the Parole Board from 2003 to 2010 and a Lecturer and Tutor Judge at the Judicial College from 2008 to 2016. He was appointed a Senior Circuit Judge and Resident Judge for the Lancashire Crown Courts, based at the Preston Combined Court Centre, in 2015. He was appointed the Honorary Recorder of Preston in 2016.
