Senior Circuit Judge Retirement: Furness KC
His Honour Judge Hugh Jonathan Furness KC retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 11 November 2023.
Background information
His Honour Judge Furness KC was called to the Bar (Gray’s Inn) in 1979 and took Silk in 2003. He was appointed a Recorder in 1999, authorised to sit as a High Court Judge in 2008 and appointed a Circuit Judge in 2015. He served as the Lead Judge of the Financial Remedies Court in South East Wales from 2018 to 2023 and was appointed a Senior Circuit Judge in 2020. He served as the Designated Family Judge for Cardiff and South East Wales from 2020 to 2023.
