His Honour Judge Andrew Gwyn Menary KC DL retires as a Senior Circuit Judge with effect from 4 July 2026.
Background information
His Honour Judge Menary KC DL was called to the Bar (Inner Temple) in 1982 and took Silk in 2003. He was appointed a Recorder in 2002, a Circuit Judge in 2013, was a Criminal Course Tutor at the Judicial College from 2016 to 2026 and appointed a Senior Circuit Judge in 2019. He was authorised to sit in the Court of Appeal (Criminal Division) in 2019 and served as the Resident Judge at Liverpool Crown Court and the Honorary Recorder of Liverpool from 2019 to 2026. He was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant for Merseyside in 2025.
