Manchester Business and Property Court Forum
The Business and Property Courts (the BPC) were launched in 2017 and created a single umbrella for specialist civil jurisdictions for business and property litigation in England and Wales. Manchester is one of five regional centres in which specialist Business and Property Courts are located.
The Manchester Business and Property Courts Forum (the Forum) was established in 2020 and comprises Judges, legal practitioners, legal academics and other professionals drawn from the Greater Manchester business community. In addition to refreshing the dialogue between the BPC and Court users by holding regular seminars and lectures, the Forum seeks to promote the specialist jurisdictions offered by the BPC in Manchester and to spread awareness of the BPC to actual and prospective Court users.
More broadly, the Forum seeks also to engage with legal education institutions in the Greater Manchester region to raise the awareness of the BPC amongst law students and academics and to contribute positively to their learning, their research and their career aspirations.
