Regional Business and Property Courts

The Business and Property Courts operate not just in London but in seven large regional cities too: Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle.

In the regions, the lists are most of the Chancery lists, the Circuit Commercial Court and the Technology and Construction Court (the Admiralty Court, the Commercial Court and the Patents Court are based in London).

Cases in these lists can and should be issued in the local regional court if the case has more connection with that area than London or other Business and Property court centres. This is so regardless of the size of the case: the appropriate level of judge will be provided in each regional court, as required. Each regional Business and Property Court is supported by a group of local practitioners with expertise in these areas of work, and a dedicated team of administrative staff.
