Family Justice Council 8th Annual Debate
The Family Justice Council held its 8th Annual Debate and panel discussion at Westminster Central Hall, Tuesday 11th November 2014.
The topic for this year’s debate was transparency. The motion for debate read: “Transparency in family proceedings – Is the Family Court Open for Business?”
The event was chaired by the Rt. Hon. Sir James Munby, President of the Family Division of the High Court, and Chairman of the Family Justice Council. The Speakers were:
- Dr Julia Brophy – is a principal researcher in Family Justice
- Sue Berelowitz – Deputy Children’s Commissioner for England and also Family Justice Council member
- Sir Roderick Newton – Family Division High Court judge
- Baroness Tyler – Chair of Cafcass
